Today, it’s Robby who’s telling you the story in images, but with a few anecdotes too, about the wedding in Normandy of these two Americans who chose France and this magnificent venue just an hour from Paris: La Dîme de Giverny. On a September morning, Marina and I hit the road to Giverny, Monet’s village, to photograph a wedding that was anything but ordinary. Amanda and Will, straight from Texas, had chosen La Dîme de Giverny to seal their love, and we captured it in thousands of photos. From the rustic barn to the first dance that melted hearts, here’s a selection of the photos we wanted to share with you from their day, as seen through our lenses in the heart of Normandy.
The Setting That Sets the Scene: La Dîme de Giverny
Before everything kicked off, we immortalized La Dîme de Giverny under the gentle September sun. Its weathered beams, autumn-colored garden, and massive wooden door gave off the perfect vibe: simple yet full of character. For Amanda and Will, it was the ideal antidote to flashy Texan style. We brought out the drone for aerial shots, capturing the barn nestled in its green surroundings and the nearby fields, offering a unique perspective on this corner of Giverny.

The Preparations: A Slice of Texas in Normandy
The day started gently. Amanda got ready alone in a quiet room at La Dîme, with a bouquet of dahlias and autumn roses. Marina captured a smile shared with her mom, who had come from Texas. Meanwhile, I, Robby, was with Will in another wing, where he adjusted his bow tie with that distinct Texan calm.
The First Look: The Key Moment in the Gardens
The first look took place in the gardens of La Dîme. Amanda and Will saw each other under a tree with leaves turned golden by September, bathed in light that enhanced everything. We shot it naturally, without staging, just as we love to do at Capyture Photography.
The Ceremony: Vows by the Water Lilies
The ceremony took place outdoors, near Monet’s water lilies. The guests, all coming from afar, were seated on either side of the pond, creating an absolutely unique and perfectly fitting frame for this location. Amanda and Will had chosen to be accompanied by a wedding planning agency, “Morgane Anderson Events”.
Morgane beautifully managed to understand their needs and craft a wedding that reflected who they are. Amanda and Will exchanged their vows under a clear sky.
The Cocktail: Groups and Relaxation
The cocktail took place in the garden of La Dîme. The group photos brought together Texan accents and everyone’s smiles—a light atmosphere we loved capturing. Between sips of cider, we snapped some spontaneous moments.
The Couple Session: Among the Helianthus
Right after the cocktail, we took Amanda and Will for a photo session among the Helianthus, those sunflowers lining the paths of La Dîme. The late afternoon light made them glow, and the flowers added a sunny touch to their portraits.
The Dinner: A Warm Evening
The dinner took place in the small, absolutely magnificent inner courtyard, providing an intimate setting. With a small group, floral tables, and under strings of lights, the atmosphere was soft and relaxed, like a night among friends. We captured the details—misted glasses, candles—and the looks between Amanda and Will during the speeches.
The Dancefloor: Emotion and Bouquet in Action
The dancefloor took over everything. The first dance between Amanda and her father was heart-wrenching—held-back tears and a connection we froze under the spotlights. Then, Amanda threw her bouquet, and we played it smart: Marina up high for the toss, me, Robby, on the ground for the reactions. Two angles, wild energy.
Why Say Yes to Giverny?
La Dîme de Giverny in September is flawless: golden light, a garden breathing autumn, and the water lilies right nearby—it’s a place with natural beauty. Just an hour from Paris, it was the perfect escape for Amanda and Will, and Normandy added that authentic touch they wanted. At Capyture Photography, as Normandy Giverny wedding photographers, we loved bringing their Texan dream to life, French-style.
